Dinner planning has become important to me. What I eat has a huge impact on my well being. It spills over into the well being of my family as well. Meal planning may be one of the most important things I do to maintain stability and healthy patterns in my life.
Today I want to share that I’ve added cauliflower to my regular list of AMAZING foods, and have a new favorite dish: cauliflower steaks!
Tonight, inspired by a Roasted Cauliflower Steaks recipe I found (but, true to my nature, mostly using it just for the oven settings), I decided to give cauliflower steaks a try. Cooking is my canvas, and I love adding my personal flair to it. Armed with nothing but the cauliflower, some butter, and my trusty roasted garlic spice, I set off on my culinary experiment. The result? Tender, flavorful cauliflower steaks that came out of the oven after 30 minutes, topped with melted sharp white cheddar that added the perfect tang.
Just A Few Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 400F
- Cut up cauliflower and coat in melted butter
- Sprinkle with roasted garlic or any other seasoning of your choice!
- Bake for 30 mins
- Cover with shredded cheese and bake for a few more minutes
More Than Just a Side Dish
Serving this alongside a lightly breaded chicken, I whipped up a meal that totaled only 20 carbs – a dream for managing our blood sugar levels. This experiment was a testament to cauliflower’s prowess as a low-carb champion. It’s not just about replacing fries; it’s about rediscovering the joy of eating well. With cauliflower now a hot ingredient for everything from rice to pizza crusts, it’s become quite the star in the healthy eating world.
A Staple in Our Home
Cauliflower has earned its spot on our grocery list, winning over the hearts (and stomachs) of my family. It’s kid-friendly, versatile, and, most importantly, diabetes-friendly, as it’s low in carbohydrates. It also has a reputation as a cancer fighter.
